Pikkupuoli gallery is a small and rural art space in Kolari, Lapland curated and hosted by artist Rea-Liina Brunou. The exhibitions there are dialogues between contemporary art and historical artefacts of the old yard cottage. The space asks whether art needs spectacular spatial proportions or the neutral clinicalism of traditional gallery spaces to make its audience stop and calm down with artworks? The aim is to bring diverse contemporary art pieces to new kinds of environments and incorporate them into Lappish local culture.
